Central Parkland Parent Link Network....

providing support, parent education, and early childhood development opportunities.

Parent Link Centres believe that children enter the world full of potential. The extent to which a child's potential is realized is strongly influenced by early experiences. Children thrive in families and communities that protect their health and safety, nurture and respect them, and provide opportunities for involvement with caring adults, stimulating play and safe exploration of their environment.

What is the Ages & Stages Questionnaire?

Central Parkland Parent Link Network offers the Ages & Stages Questionnaire for parents to use to give them a "snapshot" of their child's development.

This is a simple questionnaire that the parent fills out. It is based on the age of the child and asks specific questions based on the child's development in the following areas:

  • Communication
  • Gross motor
  • Fine motor
  • Problem-solving
  • Personal-social

What is the Ages and Stages Questionnaire - SE?

The Ages & Stages Questionnaires® :Social Emotional (ASQ:SE2) is a first level screening tool that is designed to identify children who may be at risk for social or emotional difficulties. There is tremendous opportunity during the first few years of a child's life to identify and address potential social-emotional concerns. This is at the heart of ASQ®:SE-2. It is modeled after the ASQ®-3 and is tailored to identify and exclusively screen social and emotional behaviors.

Testimonials

This has been an amazing program. My boys love it. It is helpful for parents to help their kids to grow and develop behaviour skills…and it is good as well for my kids to develop social skills when it comes to spend time playing with other kids.

Loved how it taught me new ways to teach my child. Parent Link means to us that we get to interact with other parents and kids and make new friends while learning and growing.

Great opportunity to meet other families with kids and do a variety of activities. We have made great friends through PL connections and my son is in kindergarten/hockey with 3 kids we met as babies through PL. He still loves to come back on days off of school.

Lacombe Parent Link has been a place that my whole family enjoys. We are always greeted by friendly staff, who each knows us by mane. The centre is an amazing resource; full of learning stations, 0-6-year-old activities, toys, parent resources, and a feeling of home away from home. I would hope that every young family comes and takes part in what they have to offer. Parent Link is a great way to get to know other families in our area. It’s the place my kids ask if we are going every morning. One of the best things for any young family is that there many opportunities to drop in, It’s FREE and the coffee is always on!
